THOUGHTFUL
NUTRITION
Every dog is different, and what works beautifully for mine may not be the right fit for yours. What you see here is simply a look at how I feed my own dogs and what I currently plan to use when transitioning future Everwilde puppies after weaning.
My approach has changed over time as I’ve learned what works well for my dogs. I pay attention to how they feel and how they respond to what’s in their bowl, then make adjustments when something isn’t working.
There is no single perfect way to feed every Frenchie. If you bring home an Everwilde puppy, I’ll send you home with information about what your puppy has been eating so you can make any future changes thoughtfully with your veterinarian.
This page shares my personal feeding practices and is not veterinary advice. Please talk with your veterinarian about the nutritional needs of your individual dog.
I currently use 85/15 ground beef as one of my primary protein sources. The amount and fat content can always be adjusted based on the individual dog.
Beef
Eggs make a regular appearance in my dogs’ bowls. I rotate them into meals rather than feeding exactly the same thing every day.

I use powdered goat milk as an occasional topper, particularly when I want to add a little something extra to a meal.

Salmon is another protein I like to rotate in. My dogs enjoy it, and it gives me an easy way to include oily fish in their diet.

I also keep a puppy-formulated kibble in the rotation. Future Everwilde puppies may be introduced to kibble before going home so their families have some flexibility when deciding how they want to feed.

I use Dr. Harvey’s Paradigm as the base for my whole-food meals. It makes this style of feeding considerably easier for me and takes some of the guesswork out of putting a bowl together.
