THE PUPPY PROCESS

Bringing home a puppy is exciting, but there can be quite a bit of waiting between “I want an Everwilde puppy” and the day you finally bring one home.

I want you to know what to expect along the way. My first litter is planned for 2027 or 2028, so some details of the process will continue to take shape as I get closer to that first pairing. For now, this is how the journey begins.

From interest form to homecoming.

01 | JOIN THE INTEREST LIST

It starts with the interest form.

Tell me a little about yourself, your home, and what you're hoping for in a Frenchie. This gives me a chance to get to know future families well before puppies arrive.

Submitting an interest form doesn't reserve a puppy or commit you to purchasing one. It simply lets me know you'd like to be considered when I begin making plans for future Everwilde puppies.

02 | LITTER PLANS ARE ANNOUNCED

When I have a pairing planned, I’ll reach back out to families on my interest list to see who is still hoping for an Everwilde puppy.

This is when things start becoming a little more real. I’ll share information about the planned pairing and expected timing so you can decide whether that litter feels right for you.

If the timing doesn’t work or you decide to wait, that’s completely okay. There will never be pressure to move forward simply because you joined the interest list.

03 | PREGNANCY IS CONFIRMED

Once a pregnancy is confirmed, I’ll share the news and begin keeping interested families updated as we wait for the puppies to arrive.

Even with a confirmed pregnancy, litter size can be unpredictable. I won’t make promises about a specific puppy before I know who is actually here.

For now, your job is the easy part: follow along and wait for tiny potatoes.

04 | THE PUPPIES ARRIVE

Once the puppies are here, I’ll introduce the litter and begin sharing updates as everyone settles in.

Those first weeks are about letting mom care for her babies while I keep a close eye on how everyone is doing. There’s no rush to decide which puppy belongs with which family. I want time to get to know them as they grow.

For everyone else, this is when the dangerously cute puppy photos begin.

05 | GETTING TO KNOW THEM

As the puppies grow, their individual personalities will start to show. I’ll be watching how they interact with people, respond to new experiences, and settle into everyday life.

You’re welcome to have preferences. Maybe you’ve fallen for a particular puppy or have your heart set on a certain sex or coat. I’ll keep those things in mind while I get to know the puppies themselves.

The goal isn’t to rush everyone into choosing as early as possible. It’s to give the puppies time to show me who they are before we start deciding where they might fit best.

06 | FINDING THE RIGHT FIT

Once I’ve had enough time to get to know the puppies, we’ll start talking about which one may be the right fit for your home.

Your preferences matter, and I’ll want to hear which puppies you’re drawn to. I’ll also share what I’ve learned from living with them every day so you have more to go on than an adorable face and a favorite color.

The final decision should feel good on both sides, with plenty of conversation along the way.

07 | PREPARING FOR HOMECOMING

Once your puppy is chosen, we’ll start getting ready for the big day.

Everwilde puppies go home at approximately 12 weeks of age. Because every puppy develops at their own pace, some may remain with me a little longer when I feel they would benefit from the extra time.

Before your puppy comes home, I’ll make sure you know what they’ve been eating and what to expect during those first few days together. You’ll also have time to ask questions and get everything ready at home.

Then comes the part you’ve been waiting for: bringing your Everwilde puppy home.

YOUR PUPPY GOES HOME WITH...

Health & Veterinary Care
Microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, veterinary examination, and veterinary records.

Paperwork & Protection
Puppy contract, written health guarantee, and information about your puppy's care and routine. Companion puppies are placed on limited AKC registration, with registration paperwork provided after veterinary proof of spay or neuter as outlined in the puppy contract.

A Little Something From Home
A familiar item carrying the scent of mom and littermates, a small supply of the food your puppy has been eating, and whatever other puppy goodies you ultimately decide to include.

Fleur & Luna™ Puppy Care Kit
A care package made especially for your new puppy with mini bottles of puppy shampoo and conditioner, puppy perfume, room spray, paw balm, and nose balm.

COMING FROM OUT OF STATE?

Everwilde puppies can go home to families outside of Virginia, too. If traveling here isn't practical, flight nanny service can be arranged to bring your puppy to you.

Your puppy will travel in the cabin with their flight nanny and be personally cared for throughout the trip. Any travel arrangements and associated costs will be discussed with you ahead of time.

08 | WELCOME HOME

Homecoming isn't where my relationship with you ends.

I'll still be here as your puppy settles in and grows up. I love seeing updates from my puppy families, and I want you to feel comfortable reaching out when you have questions along the way.

Once an Everwilde puppy leaves my home, I still care very much about the life they go on to live.

And yes, I will absolutely want pictures.

IF LIFE CHANGES

Sometimes life takes turns no one expected. If there ever comes a time when you can no longer care for your Everwilde dog, please contact me.

I will always take an Everwilde dog back, no questions asked. I never want one of my dogs to enter a shelter or rescue because their family has nowhere else to turn. If you can no longer keep your dog, I will make sure they have a safe place with me while I determine what comes next.

There is no shame in reaching out. Whatever brought you to that decision, my priority in that moment is getting the dog safely back into my care.

Please understand that returning a dog to Everwilde is a surrender of ownership and does not entitle the original purchaser to a refund of the purchase price or other costs associated with the dog. The full return policy will be outlined in your puppy contract.

If you need to return an Everwilde dog, use my contact form and put EVERWILDE RETURN in the subject line so I can recognize your message quickly.

THINKING ABOUT A FUTURE EVERWILDE PUPPY?

You don’t have to wait until a litter is announced to introduce yourself.

If an Everwilde Frenchie might be in your future, fill out the interest form and tell me a little about yourself. There’s no reservation or commitment involved. It simply gives me a chance to get to know you before the puppies ever arrive.
