Puppy New Year

Oh, what a wonderful Christmas and New Year we had.

Penny came home just before Christmas and somehow fit into our family like she'd always been here.

Those little devil brows absolutely kill me. I knew she was cute from the photos Tanya sent me, but I was completely unprepared for how much personality could fit inside such a tiny potato.

Flying Home!

Getting her here was an adventure of its own. Jen of Pinnacle Pet Transport hand-delivered Penny after navigating flight redirects and delays along the way. I am so grateful for the care she took getting our girl home safely.

And, of course, I owe a huge thank you to Tanya at NW Frenchies. Seven years after she trusted me with Joe, I found myself coming back to her for Penny. There is something incredibly special about that full-circle moment.

After losing Joe and Shad in 2025, our house hadn't felt quite the same. I knew another dog couldn't replace either of them, but I don't think I realized how much I missed having a Frenchie here until Penny came into our lives.

She is LOUD. She talks back. She has opinions about absolutely everything and isn't shy about sharing them. She can go from snuggling with me to tearing through the house at full speed in three seconds.

We are absolutely smitten.

Now that Penny is home, she gets to do the most important thing: grow up.

Her genetic testing is being sent in, and I'm not-so-patiently waiting for the results. There will be plenty of time later to think about what her future with my breeding program might look like.

For now, she's just Penny.
